Programs for Year 2003
The Society conducts regular meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month from April through November. Each meeting is held at Camp Morgan Lodge, starting with a ``Pot Luck'' Supper at 6:00 PM, After a brief business discussions, guest speaker programs begin by 7:30PM. All of our activities are free and open to the public. We enthusiastically invite everyone to attend.

April 14 | Peggi & Stephen Scarcello, members of the Sons of Union Veterens, will present "Understanding the Civil War" This program will discuss the war from the personal view, including stories of courage and sacrifice. They will relate what people knew and how they thought and how different our lives are today. |

May 10-11 | Food Concession at The 27th Annual New Hampshire Wool Festival, Hopkinton Fair Grounds |
May 12 | Harry C. Hadaway Jr. will present "Discover Your Ancestors". He will talk about the use of Pedigree Charts and Family Group Sheets, where to find sources, how to search records, and available resources. He will share his experience in creating a searchable genealogy web site containing over 21,000 names. |
June 9 | Andrew Conroy from UNH will present "Oxen, New Hampshire's Centuries Old Technology". |
June 14 | Orientation for museum volunteers, 2-4PM at Museum, refreshments served |
July 5 | Snowrider's Flea Market on Town Common, 9AM-2PM Donations to the Society's table are welcome. Contact any Board Member to arrange for donations. |
July 14 | Larry Robertson will present a intriguing program entitled "Murder on Smutty Nose" told from the perspective of historians and artists, followed by a crime scene investigation process - the who, what, when, where, and how, the motive, means, and opportunity - so you can come to your own conclusions about who committed the murders. Sponsored by the UNH Speaker's Bureau. |

Aug. 11 | Judson D. Hale Sr., Editor in Chief, Yankee Magazine, will discuss "New England". He will examine each of the New England states histories. The presentation will also include a glimpse into stories and the character of the states as well as their residents. |
Sept. 8 | Rebecca Rule, Author, will present "An Evening of Yankee Humor". Join in an evening of laughter as Rebecca relates stories of town meetings and the politics of small town New England. Sponsored by the NH Humanities Speaker's Bureau. |
Oct. 11-12 | 20th Annual Wool Arts Tour, The Historical Society will be be running its annual Sidewalk Cafe' at the Rhoades' farm, 232 Lempster Mountain Road. |
Oct. 13 | Richard Crane, local cattle baron, will present "The Last Cattle Drive in Washington" |
Nov. 10 | Hans Eccard will act as master of ceremonies for a ``Mystery Meeting.'' Everyone is asked to bring any treasured item, along with its special story. |
